2020 Benefit Auction

Welcome to Silver Eye Center for Photography’s biennial Benefit Auction, powered by Artsy. This is our most important fundraiser and proceeds from the Auction support our exhibitions, our artists, our educational programs, and keeps our gallery free and open to all.
In keeping with our continued commitment to uplift and empower the voices of Black artists, a portion of proceeds from the Auction will go to Sibyls Shrine, new artist residency for Black women, womxn, trans women, and femmes who are mothers and identify as artists, creatives, and/or activists in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The photographs in this auction represent many of the most talented, generous, and creative artists working in photography today. They have been gathered by our staff, board, and friends over a period of years and create one of our most exciting exhibitions. We will also have the work from the Auction on view in our gallery in June so that local bidders can see all of the lots in person. Of course for our physical space we will have full social distancing measures in effect, including requiring masks, and only allowing four people in the space at one time. We know this is a big change from a format that has served us well for more than 20 years, so please reach out to us if you have any questions at all.

Last Call Party
Thursday, July 9th, 2020

In a live auction, when bidding slows down the auctioneer calls out a fair warning, giving one last chance to increase the bid before the hammer comes down. In this spirit we will be hosting a digital Last Call Party on July 9th. It will be one last chance to come together and watch the final flurry of bidding as the clock on auction winds down.
