Scanning and manipulating two or more negatives, Kelli Connell uses the computer as a tool to create a seamless, believable scene where her model interacts with a copy of herself. Connell's photographs reconstruct the private relationships she has experienced personally, witnessed in public, or watched on television. In Floating, a woman and her digital double float calmly, surrounded by vibrant primary colors. Connell received her MFA from Texas Woman’s University, and her BFA from the University of North Texas. Her work is in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and Museum of Contemporary Photography, among others.
