Jason Lazarus has been creating photograms like this one since the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States. In this image, the subject matter is the public telephone number for the White House. Made quickly by applying photographic developer directly to the paper with a brush and then exposing the print to light, these prints feel similar in nature to the fast construction of a protest sign, full of the repetition of resistance. Lazarus holds an MFA from Columbia College, and has recently exhibited at The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Contemporary Jewish Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.
