Sharing his time between Hawai’i and Toronto, Brendan George Ko pulls from these locations’ long traditions of oral history and story–telling. The glowing reflection of light in this image feels magic or otherworldly, yet also communicates Ko’s feelings about a specific place, and an appreciation of the natural world. Ko received his BFA from Ontario College of Art and Design, and a MVA at the University of Toronto. His work has been included in such events as The Magenta Foundation’s annual photography exhibition, and the juried exhibition Hey! Hot Shot in New York City.
