Lonnie Graham believes artists are creative problem solvers who play an integral role in society. In one of his most well known projects, Conversation with the World, Graham spent decades traveling across the globe, interviewing strangers and photographing them. In Animal Impulse, Graham has created a photogram of a small toy dog, evoking a more tamed and manufactured impulse than the title suggests. Graham is a Pew Fellow and Professor at Pennsylvania State University. He also served as Director of Photography at Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
