In his series, When The Light Is Put Away, photographer Evan Perkins examines how our physical environment interacts with the light of the night sky. Fusing interests in both science fiction and astronomy, these photographs imagine ways of accessing worlds far beyond our own. In Constellations, a small puddle of water becomes a cosmos under the blue tinged, nocturnal light, with the spray of gravel and stones around it transformed into an infinite universe. Perkins is a Boston-based artist and recently graduated with departmental honors from Massachusetts College of Art and Design's BFA Photography program.
