Granville Carroll

Archival pigment print
24 x 30 inches
Edition of 10, signed sticker on verso

Drawing on his interests of spirituality, cosmology, science, and philosophy, Granville Carroll's photographs look to the relationships between our minds, reality, and the spaces we inhabit. Interbeing manifests these ideas through the image of a figure, seemingly made of light, emerging from within a natural scene. Calling on ethereal, invisible forces located within myth and legend. Here Carroll overlays a human presence on a natural once, questioning our perceptions of how and where we exist in the world.

Granville Carroll is a visual artist currently based in Rochester, NY. Carroll holds a Masters of Fine Art (2020) in photography and related media from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Carroll’s work is influenced by Afrofuturism and spirituality.
