Silver Eye Benefit Auction 2022

Welcome to Silver Eye Center for Photography’s biennial Benefit Auction. Benefit Auction 2022 is one of our largest and most important fundraisers. Proceeds from the Auction support exhibitions and artists and keep our gallery and program admission free. When you place a bid at the Auction, you are helping to create a future for Silver Eye that keeps compelling, thoughtful, beautiful, and challenging art in our community.

The photographs in this Auction represent the most talented, generous, and creative artists working in photography today. They have been gathered together over a period of years and represent one of the most exciting exhibitions held on the premises of Silver Eye. As an organization, we are dedicated to promoting contemporary photography through original exhibitions and education programs that foster the understanding and appreciation of this fine art form.

No exhibition allows us to share the breadth and depth of our program like the Auction Preview Exhibition, on display until the Live Auction on October 22nd. This exhibition is a great time to get a sneak peek at the upcoming auction lots and learn more about the artists and their work. The Last Three Photographs I Bought: September 21, 2022, 6.30-7.30pm

There are as many different ways to collect photographs as there are collectors. Why collect? Meet collectors Fred and Laura Bidwell, Lori Hepner, Adam Milliron, and Jessica Gaynelle Moss, and hear them share the last three photographs they added to their collections, and discuss what drew them to acquire specific pieces!

Stories from the Auction: October 13, 2022, 6.30-7.30pm

Join Silver Eye staff as they discuss some of their personal highlights from this year’s auction. They will also answer questions about purchasing and collecting photographs.

Benefit Auction 2022: Live Auction Event: October 22, 2022, 5.30pm

Live auction begins at 6.00pm. Food by Sprezzatura, wine by Sokolin Wines. Auctioneer Alison Oehler will take us through seventy lots generously donated by artists and estates in support of Silver Eye.

Benefit Auction 2022: Silent Auction: Ends October 24, 2022

Thirty lots including pieces by some of the most exciting contemporary artists working with photography and established icons are available for bid in a silent auction. These lots, S01-S30, are available to bid on Artsy.net through October 24.

First register in advance for Artsy and then register for the Silver Eye Silent Auction on Artsy. Online-only bidding does not require a ticket, but does require Artsy registration. See Artsy for each lot’s ending time.
