Channel Silver Eye
Performing Rites
Animals abound in Channel Silver Eye’s winter menagerie, Performing Rites. This collection of short narrative and documentary videos features performance and ritual as its central themes. Spirited creatures–both natural and contrived–are invoked through mythical rites revealing powerful connections to their human counterparts.
This event is curated by Ross Nugent, a filmmaker and the Assistant Professor of Communication of Thiel College, who will introduce the program and lead a post-screening discussion.
About Channel Silver Eye: Channel Silver Eye is a microcinema series based in our Penn Avenue gallery. Every other month we present a selection of experimental short films and videos based around a different theme programed by curators and artists from around the country. Popcorn and beer is served during the screening, questions and answers with the curator are at the end.
