Discussion + Practice Group

Forecast: Conversations on Photography and the Environment

Forecast is a monthly discussion and practice group focused on the environmental histories, impacts, and futures of photography.

Each photograph is an environmental action. In Forecast, we will explore how photography impacts the environment, and how the environment shapes the practice and technology of photography.

Michelle Henning’s A Dirty History of Photography will serve as a shared text, but participants are encouraged to develop their own lines of inquiry and art making. We welcome photographers, filmmakers, photography writers, ecologists, environmental activists, and the photo- and eco-curious.
