Book Signing

Pittsburgh's Women Photobook Artists

During the 2018 Silver Eye Book Fair, on Saturday, Nov 3 at 2pm, join us for a panel discussion and book signing with four Pittsburgh based photobook makers: Sue Abramson, Melissa Catanese, Anastasia Davis, and Alisha B. Wormsley.

Sue Abramson will discuss and sign her new book A Woodlands Journal, an elegant and decades long mediation on our relationship to nature and grief. Melissa Catanese will share and sign her latest book Voyagers, (The Ice Plant) a volume of mostly anonymous black and white snapshots of people in various postures of reading — in living rooms, on beds, at the beach, eating breakfast. Silver Eye 's Fellowship 18 Publication Prize winner, Anastasia Davis will share and sign her new book self-portrait by the house wall, (Spaces Corners & Silver Eye) a dreamy sequence of images that reflect on physical and emotional place and displacement. Alisha B. Wormsley will discuss her forthcoming book The People Are the Light, (Silver Eye) a poetic document of the activities of the artist and her many collaborators during her year-long Hillman Photography Initiative residency in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood.
