Standing in Solidarity Against Racism

We are deeply saddened and angered by the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Antwon Rose, and far too many other lives lost to racist violence. Silver Eye is committed to fostering conversations about racial inequity and to being actively anti-racist. We stand in solidarity with all who are working to bring real social change to our country and fighting racism wherever it exists.

Our mission is to promote the power of photography as an art form and to support the creative visions of emerging and mid-career artists. We believe that one of the most important ways we can show solidarity in this moment is to continue to support the work and careers of African American artists. Providing a platform for Black voices will continue to be intrinsic to our organization’s values.

The urgency of speaking out against racial inequity falls to each of us. We urge our community to support organizations that are working to fight the systemic racism in our society and to become educated in ways to better understand and better fight against racism in America.

If you would like to help or to learn more about the movement unfolding across our country due to the recent tragedies, we are sharing the following links.
