Support vital artistic voices
Dear friends,
In a year of political upheaval and uncertainty, your support is a powerful force for creativity and connection.
Just days after the presidential election, we opened Passages with Priya Suresh Kambli and Vivian Poey, whose work reimagines family photo archives to explore migration and identity. During Vivian’s participatory workshop and the following months, your support helped create a space where photography builds community and uplifts lived experience.
At Silver Eye, building lasting relationships with artists and communities is at the heart of everything we do. For example, The Archive as Liberation exhibition emerged from our long-standing friendship with artist and co-curator Aaron Turner. It enabled Andre Bradley, calista lyon, Raymond Thompson Jr., Harrison D. Walker, and Savannah Wood the freedom to take creative risks and debut powerful new work. Your support helped transform the exhibition and its symposium into spaces for honest dialogue and visionary thinking.
As we celebrate twenty-five years of Fellowship, your continued support ensures we can keep amplifying urgent new voices. This flagship program sparks enduring friendships, such as with past Fellowship artists Karen Lue, who recently shared her creative journey with the Scholars @ Silver Eye, and Anthony Francis, whose recent conversations with me continue to inspire my thinking.
Every spring, I’m so proud to witness Fellowship artists bring their transformative work to life at Silver Eye—and to know that their time with us remains pivotal in their creative journeys.
Please consider a gift to Silver Eye. Together, we can continue to empower artists to challenge history, share urgent stories, and imagine bold new futures.
Thank you for making a difference in our community!
