The Weight of Images
Join us Friday, December 5, from 6–7.30pm during Unblurred!
Emerging from The Weight of Images course at Carnegie Mellon, taught by Kim Beck in Fall 2025, this exhibition presents a diverse collection of artists’ books that examine the photography book as both a narrative form and a sculptural object.
Through experiments in sequencing, materiality, and the interplay of word and image, students transformed photographic series into tactile experiences. Each book represents individual inquiries into visual storytelling, ranging from unspoken dialogues to complex, multi-layered narratives.
At 6.30pm, the artists will give introductions to their books and creative practices!
