Workshop
With an Eternal Wing
Borrowing its title from a line by gender-bending surrealist artist Claude Cahun, With an Eternal Wing is a six-week collective exploration led by artist lee rae walsh. Participants will be invited to select an art historical guide as a site of research and inspiration while developing new approaches to sharing their own work. Through collaborative study, readings, discussion, and creative prompts, the course explores art historical figures who blur the boundaries between writing, performance, and photography, with a focus on queer narratives and storytelling.
No special skills or training are required. This course is open to anyone interested in challenging dominant art historical narratives and developing experimental research methods. Participants will be supported in deepening their relationships to their own voices, situating lived stories within history, and building an ongoing research-driven creative practice.
