Pittsburgh based artist Dominick McDuffie will show work from his series Rough Draft: A Series From The Archive. With archived photographs tied to various projects as well as singular works, Rough Draft provides a visual framework into Dom McDuffie’s photography. The intention to authentically document community is at the heart of this series.

This work will be on view concurrently with the exhibitions in our main gallery, Jacob Haupt: Real to Me and Hernease Davis: Recapitulation. Stop in during the First Friday Unblurred Penn Avenue Art Walk on Friday, October 1st, to see both exhibitions!

Participating Artist

1. Dominick McDuffie (b.1993) is an emerging multidisciplinary artist specializing in documentary photography. As a self-taught photographer, his photography is rooted in community, cultural preservation and authentically documenting Black spaces, as well as the people in and around them. Following the tradition of image makers he admires such as Gordon Parks, Teenie Harris and Ming Smith he uses film photography to give a warmness and a natural feel that he wants to convey in images. His images attempt to invoke feelings within the viewer through images.
